Italy must decide whether to play the international game and whether to do so in the premier league or in a lower division. It must not be taboo to talk about defending national interests, first of all to define what they are and what Italy is prepared to do to protect them. This definition of strategic goals is up to politics; the military just has to implement them.

A new event format is unveiled. The general outline, for this first Defense Conference, will be the increase in military spending: the achievement of 2 percent of GDP, which has been demanded for years at the NATO level, must take place (according to the government and parliament) by 2028.
